Simple DIY Christmas Decorations For The Best Look On The Days
One of the DIY Christmas decorations includes Christmas centerpieces, which is an easy project. I have helped make many craft gifts over the years, usually with natural products found around our home. Pinecone centerpieces, sometimes spray-painted, occasionally natural. Ornaments for the tree, a platform bird feeder, decorated door hanger for inside or out. Vine wreath, from wild grapevines.
This year, I am helping a six-year-old make gifts. We’ve been working off and on all this week.
He chooses where the holes go, and what kind of candles, tall, or tealight, it will be for, then I help hold the drill.
He is using white birch with three holes drilled in it to be a candle holder and decoration.
Once the holes are there, it’s decorated with ribbons, sometimes glued on greenery, sometimes bells. Each has been different as he says each of the people is getting them like different things! Wise young one!
The hardest part of the project was getting him to limit the decorating on the logs. The first one looked like it was going to have every item on it, maybe even two of everything. It would have been a fire hazard! We solved that issue by laying out the candles and ribbons, bows, bells, for each log before proceeding after the first one. Live and learn!
